About Johanna

Hi, I’m Johanna
I’m a watercolor artist, a stay at home mom to two, and someone who has learned to find the blessings in the middle of an unexpected season.

My Story

I’ve always loved creating artwork that brings people joy and holds so much meaning for them. But when I became a mom, I knew that was where God was calling me to give my full attention. Then when we had our son, who suffered from major health issues and later diagnosed with three rare genetic disorders, I knew that was where I had to give my all and I saw how God was changing me.
Now that we’re in a season where I can create again, it feels more meaningful. I don’t want my art to just be something pretty but a way to connect, encourage, and remind others that they are not alone and that God loves them.

What I Create

Through custom watercolor portraits and my Snail Mail Club, I create one-of-a-kind pieces that feel personal and lasting.

Whether it’s a painting of someone you love or a letter arriving at just the right time, my heart behind it is the same: to bring a sense of joy, beauty and encouragement to your everyday life.

Postcards from The Waiting Room

My snail mail club, Postcards from the Waiting Room, was born out of my own waiting season.
As a special-needs mom, I know firsthand how much of our time is spent in waiting rooms and in waiting seasons. So I wanted to create something that helps every mom feel a little less alone in the waiting.
Each month, you’ll receive a personal letter from me, original artwork print, a Bible verse card with a worship playlist attached to the back, and thoughtful extras designed to keep you busy in the waiting room.

There is still so much purpose in the waiting.

My Faith

I was raised in a Christian home, so Jesus has always been a part of my life. But if I’m being honest, it wasn’t until I walked through some really hard seasons that it truly became mine.

Going through years of anxiety and depression, experiencing miscarriages and stepping into life as a special-needs mom were the moments that made me really dig into who God is and what I believe.

There were times I felt broken, overwhelmed, and unsure of what God was doing. But over time, I saw how much He was changing me not by taking away every hard thing, but by meeting me in it. He softened my heart, changed my perspective, and taught me how to see His goodness even in the middle of the mess.

I definitely don’t have it all figured out, but can say God has changed me in more ways than I ever expected. And that’s really where my art comes from.
What I create now isn’t just making something that looks good. It’s about reflecting Him. His goodness, faithfulness and the way He can bring us peace during the unknown.

My heart behind every piece is to create for His glory and to bring people closer to Him through something they can see, hold, and feel.
